Master the Layering Trend

As much as we love a single sparkler or a bold statement piece, we’re big believers that a little layering can take any look from simple to standout. And, when you’ve got a jewelry box packed with goodies you just can’t wait to wear, it can get hard to choose just one.

With that said, the best way to make your look your own is with a little layering. Read on for 5 ways to perfect the layered look (and get inspired by our favorite combos made from pieces in the gallery!).

Tangle Pendant Necklaces
If you’re sticking to 2-3 necklaces that are similar in length, shift each one so that the central stone rests at different positions against your neck or collarbone.

Play with Lengths
If you have a short piece and a long piece, wear your shortest collar necklace with an extra long chain – it’ll look like one long piece has been looped around your neck – so chic!

Mix Textures
Dress up a basic tee with delicate chains with different textures. It’s interesting, fun, and so forward-thinking.

Opt for Color
Layer some plain chains with a single colorful stone necklace to allow it to standout. It’s a great way to make a statement while keeping your look streamlined.

Say Yes to Shapes
It’s okay to get creative! We’re big believers that the best way to complement a shape is to pair it with something different. We like to think of it as a fun way to show off your personal style.

We love the mixed shapes in this sophisticated stacked look! Ari Roven’s Diamond Square Necklace is a daily reminder of the power of simplicity, but we love it accented with this Five Diamond Pear Necklace (its barely-there finish is so incredibly chic!). We finished the look off with a wear-everywhere Diamond “V” Lariat – available in 14K Yellow Gold or 14K Rose Gold.

Sharp and stylish, this layered look can be worn with jeans and a tee or a slinky maxi dress. White/Space’s Diamond Baby Tusk Pendant is 14K and finished with a small diamond center – its high-shine finish is a force to be reckoned with. We love it with this Diamond Half Moon Pendant (how cool is the super-chic brushed finish?!).

Adornia’s Collins Double Triangle Necklace is the easiest way to get the layered look with just one piece. It features a sterling silver mix with a solid metal and pave triangle and can be worn long and loose or double wrapped for a foolproof layered look.
